When you’re not on the go, you may want to amplify your experience by displaying your PlayStation Portable game on a larger screen. Connecting the PSP screen to an HDTV, requires a component cable that is not included with the purchase of a portable gaming console. Sony manufactures a component A/V cable that costs approximately $15.

    Turn off the PSP and plug the single line end of the Sony Component A/V Cable into the device’s headphone jack.

    Plug each of the five ends of the A/V cable into the A/V ports on the back of the Polaroid HDTV. Make sure each of the colored ends on the A/V cable matches the colored component ports on the television.

    Turn on the PSP. Scroll to Settings on the main menu and select the “Connected Display Settings” option.

    Select the “Switch Video Output” option. You are asked whether or not you want to display the video output on the television. Select “Yes.”

    Press the “Input” button on the Polaroid remote and select the input source for the PSP, such as Video 4 or Video 5. Depending on the television model, the number of the input source may vary. The image displayed on the PSP appears on the television.


  • This article will work for PSP 2000 and 3000 models only. The PSP 1000 cannot be connected to an HDTV.
