Road layouts, highway interchanges and traffic restrictions change all the time, so even relatively new maps on your TomTom GPS satellite navigation device can soon become outdated. To ensure you have the latest electronic maps for accurate navigation on your TomTom, you can subscribe to the Map Update service that guarantees your device always has the latest available map versions. TomTom's Map Update service provides updated maps four times a year. In the interim, you can join the free TomTom Map Share community, which allows you to access map corrections made by other members and also upload corrections to the TomTom map database yourself.TomTom Map Update Service.

EditTips

  • Some TomTom devices also offer a 90-day map guarantee that will automatically update the device with the latest map if an older version was installed when you bought the new device. However, note the guarantee doesn't cover maps that you've downloaded or maps on pre-owned or refurbished devices. You can activate the 90-day guarantee from TomTom Home or MyTomTom software by entering the activation code on the guarantee card that came with the device.
